Founded in 1873 during the California Gold Rush by Levi Strauss who was an immigrant from Bavaria. He recognized the need for clothing that could endure anything.
Levi’s Water<Less project works to minimize their water usage in the production of their jeans. Levi’s has saved more than 3 billion liters and recycled more than 2 billion liters of water. 67% of all Levi’s products are made with Water<Less techniques. Their 2020 goal is for 80% of all Levi’s products to be made using Water<Less innovations.
The Better Cotton Initiative launched in 2010. As of today, Levi's sources more than 34% of its cotton using this sustainable method. Their 2020 goal is for 100% of the cotton they use to be responsibly sourced.
